Willy Floessner
Willy Flößner (born November 28, 1898 in Nossen ; † June 5, 1979 in Olbernhau ) was a German florist .
Life
As a 16-year-old student at the Nossen teacher training college, he discovered his passion for collecting plants while setting up a herbarium. He left his extensive collection to the University of Jena . In addition to his job as an elementary and special school teacher, his special field of work was research into the deciduous and liverworts as well as the lichens between Zwickauer and Freiberg Mulde , about which he published several times.

- 1974: Leibniz Medal for his services to plant mapping in the Ore Mountains
