Fritz Voirol
Fritz Voirol (born February 16, 1887 in Basel , † July 2, 1928 in Olten ) was a Swiss landscape painter and drawing teacher.
Fritz Voirol was the second son of the teacher and painting copyist August Voirol (1861-1919). From 1904 to 1907 he attended the trade school in Basel. From October 30, 1907 he studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich in the drawing school of Peter von Halm (1854–1923) and Franz von Stuck (1863–1928).
After completing his studies, he returned to Basel in 1911 and gave drawing lessons at the secondary school. He then went on to study in Paris . After his military service, he received his drawing teacher diploma in Bern in 1913.
From 1914 to 1922 he worked as a drawing teacher at the Minerva Institute in Zurich and in 1922 he moved to the Olten vocational school, where he taught until 1928. In 1923 he became a member of the Olten Art Association. He fell ill in 1928 of pleurisy and died in the same year at the age of 41 years.
