Frode Berg
Frode Berg (born October 24, 1971 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian bass player.
biography
Berg grew up as the son of a naval chaplain in Australia, Belgium, France and England before returning to Norway at the age of 11. He lived in Lier and first learned to play the piano and trumpet. In 1990 he began studying classical double bass at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, which he completed after an interlude with Donna Summer in 1994 with Knut Guettler.
As a jazz musician, he was accepted into the Helge Lien Trio, with whom he recorded seven albums.
As an orchestral bassist, he was a member of the Oslo Filharmonie Orchestra from 2010 and of the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra in 2011, but also performed with the NDR Bigband . In total, he recorded more than 50 different albums with a wide variety of formations.
As an actor, Berg can be seen in Artemis 81 as the son of a pastor.
Berg also released noted albums as a soloist and later traveled a lot with the guitarist Knut Værnes .
