Kim Ofstad

Kim Ofstad (born November 25, 1969 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian pop , rock and jazz drummer.

Ofstad studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he met bassist Jonny Sjo . With him and the singer Simone Larsen he founded the pop band D'Sound in 1993 , with which he released several albums and was awarded the Spellemann Prize in 1998 .

In 1995 he recorded the album Jacques Tati with jazz guitarist Knut Værnes , bassist Frode Berg , trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær and keyboardist Bugge Wesseltoft . In 1998 he worked with Sjo on Eivind Aarset's album Électronique Noire . He toured Scandinavia and Germany with the a-ha singer Morten Harket , DJ Kemit , Lil John Roberts and Anne Grete Preus , played drums on several albums by the rock group Ab und Zu and worked in a duo with the drummer Audun Kleive .
