Fuck Off is a Spanish speed and thrash metal band from Barcelona , which was founded in 1986, disbanded in 1990 and has been active again since 2010.

history

The band was formed in 1986. In 1987, a first single followed, before the debut album Another Sacrifice followed in 1988, which also included the Slayer cover Black Magic . The album was recorded in Ibiza . The second album Hell on Earth was released in 1990, which was recorded in Birmingham . This was followed by appearances together with Rage and Running Wild . However, the band broke up that same year.

In 2010 the band was re-founded by guitarist Pep Casas. Performances followed, in which the former singer Joe Bolta was occasionally on stage. While the band held concerts across Spain, they also worked on new songs. After the compilation A Different Sacrifice 1987-1988 was published by Xtreem Music in 2012, the third album Smile As You Kill followed in September 2013 , which was mastered by Dan Swanö .

style

On Another Sacrifice, according to classicthrash.com, the band play classic Thrash Metal with “nasty” vocals and no catchy riffs , whereby none of the songs stand out from the others. This has continued on Hell on Earth , with the biggest innovation on the album being the new singer. Smile As You Kill offers classic Thrash Metal despite a strong line-up change, which means that there is not much left of the original line-up, although the anarchistic sound that could still be heard in the earlier albums has been lost. According to thethrashmetalguide.com , the band, alongside Legion and Muro, are among the pioneers of the Spanish speed and thrash metal scene. Another Sacrifice has influences from early Slayers . The album begins with Speed Metal, comparable to Exciter's , before moving on to aggressive Thrash Metal. Hell on Earth also offers aggressive Thrash Metal, whereby the aggressiveness increases in the course of the album and the playing of the instruments also becomes more technically demanding. As with the previous album, influences from the crossover were processed on this album , albeit less frequently. The song Hell on Earth , which has its roots in speed metal, was also an influence on the later development of the speed and power metal movement in the 1990s. On Smile As You Kill, the band also play a mixture of speed and thrash metal, reminiscent of groups like Warrant , Iron Angel and Helloween .
