Iron Angel is a heavy metal band founded in Hamburg in 1980 .

history

The band was founded in 1980 as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal under the name Metal Gods. The band played a series of concerts without success until it finally renamed itself Iron Angel in 1983.

The renaming took place at the same time as speed and power metal moved into Germany. In 1984 the band released three demo recordings that eventually led to a record deal with Steamhammer Records . It was there that Iron Angel released her debut album Hellish Crossfire in 1985 .

Winds of War , the successor released in 1986.

reunion

In 1997 the band started a comeback . In 2004 the live albums The Tapes and Rush for Power were released by the band or on a small record company. The band Iron Angel, which now consisted only of Dirk Schröder and Mike Matthes, released their own production Back from Hell in May 2007 .

In September 2014, Iron Angel started another attempt. Since May 2015 the band can be seen live at European festivals again. In August 2015, Iron Angel completed a two-week tour of South America. Various live videos can be found on the net. In 2017 the band focused on the songwriting and production of the third album "Hellbound", which was released in May 2018 via Mighty Music / Target Group.
