Fukuda Hiroichi

Fukuda Hiroichi ( Japanese 福田 宏 一 ; born January 23, 1914 in Gunma , Gunma County (today: Takasaki ), Gunma Prefecture ; † March 18, 1999 ) was a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and a member of the Sangiin , the upper house , for Gunma Prefecture.

Fukuda was elected to the Sangiin in 1980 and again in 1986 as a candidate for the LDP. There he was, among other things, Parliamentary State Secretary ( seimujikan ) in the Ministry of Agriculture and chairman of the Special Committee for Okinawa and the Northern Territories . Within the LDP he belonged to the Fukuda → Abe faction . In 1992 he retired from politics.

Fukuda's brother Takeo and his nephew Yasuo were both members of the Shūgiin (lower house) from Gunma, LDP chairman and prime minister.
