Fundación Nydia Érika Bautista

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nydia Érika Bautista Foundation (Spanish: Fundación Nydia Érika Bautista ) is a foundation that campaigns for the clarification of cases of disappeared and murdered people in Colombia and for efforts to make reparations.

history

In 1997 the International Human Rights Association Nydia Érika Bautista was founded in Geneva by relatives of Nydia Érika Bautista, who had been abducted and murdered 10 years earlier. They wanted to solve this murder and committed themselves to the clarification of numerous other cases of disappeared and killed with reports to the UNO, support of those concerned and publications.

In 2007 they returned to Colombia and continued to work as Fundación Nydia Érika Bautista . Since then, they have provided legal, psychological and other support for the families of those killed. The lawyer Yanette Bautista tries to bring the murderers to justice and to punish them. She has been threatened with death several times, and former President Álvaro Uribe described her as part of the guerrilla in a parliamentary debate in 2014.
