The DLF-broadcasting center in Cologne is at an altitude of 102 meters, the tenth highest skyscraper in the city of Cologne (as of fall 2018) and one of the 100 highest skyscrapers in the Federal Republic of Germany. The building in Cologne-Marienburg has been home to studios and editorial offices of Deutschlandfunk since February 18, 1979 (official opening: April 24, 1980) . In the immediate vicinity of the tower, which was planned by Gerhard Weber , is the former radio house on the Raderberggürtel of Deutsche Welle .
