Furkan Aldemir (born August 9, 1991 in Izmir ) is a Turkish basketball player who currently plays in the Turkish Basketball League for Darüşşafaka SK Istanbul .
Aldemir started his career as a basketball player in 2007 in the Turkish Basketball League with Pınar Karşıyaka . In July 2011, Furkan signed a contract with Galatasaray Medical Park . In the 2012 NBA draft , he was drafted 53rd by the Los Angeles Clippers . On June 29th, he was transferred to the Houston Rockets as part of a 4-team trade . In 2013 Aldemir won the Turkish championship with Galatasaray. He took part in the 2014 World Cup with the Turkish national team. In December of that year he was signed by the Philadelphia 76ers. After a year in Philadelphia, he moved back to Turkey.
