Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. , is a Japanese manufacturer of electronic devices for ships (so-called marine electronics ), in particular sonar , radar , radio and now also GPS devices.

Based in Nishinomiya in the prefecture of Hyogo ; Founded in 1948 , IPO in 1982 , around 1,200 employees . In the meantime, the company has diversified into business areas such as medicine and land surveying .

Furuno has also been represented in Germany since 2005, before the Furuno devices were sold through Ferropilot .
