Hans Vermeersch

Hans Vermeersch (born June 30, 1957 in Knokke-Heist , West Flanders Province , Belgium ) is a Belgian composer and conductor .

Life

First he attended the City Conservatory in Bruges . He then studied harmony , chamber music , oboe , music history and violin at the Ghent Conservatory . He also studied at the Musikhochschule in Innsbruck , Austria . He later studied conducting for wind orchestra with Jan Segers and Guy Duijck .

In 1975 he won the Pro Civitate competition with the violin .

As a violinist, he gave concerts and recitals with music from the 17th and 18th centuries in Greece , Austria, Denmark , Germany and Belgium. He was a lecturer in violin at the music academies in Blankenberge and Knokke-Heist.

In 1975 he became conductor of the Harmonie De Zeegalm in Knokke-Heist. He is also the conductor of the Rajhans Orchestra.
