Gábor Boldoczki [ ˈɡaːbor ˈboldoʦki ] (* 1976 in Szeged , Hungary) is a Hungarian trumpeter who has made a name for himself in classical music .

Life

Boldoczki grew up in Kiskőrös and studied trumpet there at the State Music School. In Budapest he attended the Leó Weiner Music School and the Franz Liszt Music Academy . He then deepened his playing in Reinhold Friedrich's master class at the Karlsruhe University of Music . In 2004 he was the first solo trumpeter to play at the Salzburg Festival . In 2010 he received the "Doctor Liberalium Artium" of the doctoral program of the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest and has since been a professor for trumpet.

As a solo trumpeter he gives concerts in the major concert halls of Europe with a repertoire from baroque to contemporary music. Concert tours have taken him to South America, China and Japan.

Boldoczki has emerged from the premieres of contemporary compositions. In 2010 he performed the world premiere of Fazıl Say's work for trumpet and orchestra and in 2015 with the first trumpet concerto by Krzysztof Penderecki . He played the world premiere of Boris Papandopulo's Trumpet Concerto and, together with Gidon Kremer, Georgs Pelēcis ' “Revelation”.

Boldoczki uses JA Musik's B&S instruments .

Boldoczki lives in Budapest.
