Gökay Güney (born May 19, 1999 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football player . He plays for Galatasaray Istanbul , Güney was loaned to Bandırmaspor for the 2020/21 season.

Club career

Güney joined the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul at the age of eleven . After five years in the youth of the yellow-reds , Güney signed a professional contract in 2016 with a term of three years. In his first season with the first team, he was not used in the Süper Lig , but in the Turkish Cup against 24 Erzincanspor .

The central defender made his debut in the Süper Lig on January 19, 2019 against MKE Ankaragücü . He was substituted on for Maicon in the 84th minute .

National team

Güney started his international career in October 2016 with an assignment for the Turkish U-18 national team . Since 2018 he has been part of the U-21 squad.
