Senckenberg Museum for Natural History Görlitz

The Senckenberg Museum für Naturkunde Görlitz , built in 1860, is the largest museum in East Saxony. It is a natural history museum with a focus on zoology, botany and geology.

Silesian Museum in Görlitz

The Silesian Museum in Görlitz gives an insight into 1000 years of Silesian cultural history . A part is dedicated to landscapes such as the Giant Mountains and cities such as B. Wroclaw . Another part shows craftsmanship, history as well as the people and their living and working conditions.

Museum of Photography

The Görlitz Museum of Photography offers an insight into the history and art of photography. In addition to prints of various photographs, a look at the technology is also taken. Exhibition in Hagenwerder station

Under the name “History of lignite mining in the Berzdorf opencast mine from 1835 to 2000”, visitors can find out more about the former lignite mining site. Not far from the train station, on the road towards Tauchritz standing Schaufelradbagger no. 1452 . It serves as a "technical monument" and can be visited.
