Tauchritz is the southernmost part of the city of Görlitz .
Before Tauchritz was incorporated into the city of Görlitz in 1994, it belonged to the municipality of Hagenwerder .
Tauchritz is on the national highway 99 to reach and to the bus network of Gorlitzer transport companies connected (GVB). The water castle Tauchritz is the most important sight in town.
The technology of the DLRG Görlitz is now housed in the old fire station of the open-cast lignite mine and serves as a base and training location for the structure.
history
The place name Tauchritz, derived from the Slavic Tucherice, means something like place in a swampy area. The moated castle was first mentioned in a document in 1306.
Due to its location, the district was heavily influenced by the former Hagenwerder power station and the former Berzdorf open-cast lignite mine, which is now the Berzdorfer See .
