History of Görlitz city traffic
History of the GVB
The Görlitzer Verkehrsbetriebe was entered in the commercial register on October 27, 2016. The mayor of Görlitz, Siegfried Deinege, was named as the provisional managing director and was supposed to manage the business until a managing director was appointed. On October 28, 2016, the GVB received a direct award from the city of Görlitz for the operation of Görlitz city traffic from January 2019 over a period of 10 years.
On March 15, 2018 it was announced that Andreas Trillmich will take over the management on October 1, 2018. He is replacing Deinege, who held this position during the founding period.
At the same time, Trillmich gives up his position as managing director of the Länderbahn , which is also active in Görlitz with the trilex brand .

The GVB operates two tram lines and seven city bus lines in Görlitz, one of which is a tram line and two bus lines also in late traffic between 7pm and midnight.

Timetable improvements
The GVB's timetable concept is based on the public transport concept of the city of Görlitz from 2016. The changes in the bus services provided were implemented when the timetable changed on December 15, 2019. For example, bus line B between the Klinikum and Demianiplatz stops was given a modified route to develop the Waggonbau Ost district . Bus line D, which runs between the university and Klingewalde, was newly introduced. Between Demianiplatz and Klingewalde, the line took over the branch from Line A, which instead runs from Demianiplatz to the university.
Little changed on the tram lines. For example, the 20-minute intervals of the lines will be postponed by two hours on Saturdays. At the same time, line 3 becomes line 1.
