Günter Althaus

Günter Althaus (born September 12, 1967 in Korbach , Hessen ) is a German manager and functionary.

Life

Günter Althaus was born in 1967 in Korbach and graduated from high school at the Alte Landesschule in Korbach in 1986. After completing his training as a bank clerk, he started out in the lending business of Waldecker Bank in Korbach in 1989 and studied part-time at the Bank Academy in Kassel. Further stations were lecturing at the cooperative educational institute in Kassel and work in the management consultancy of the Frankfurt cooperative association. Since 1998 he has taken on various management functions in consulting and financial companies, including as Head of Marketing & Sales at Genossenschaftsverband Frankfurt / Main, Managing Director of GenoConsult GmbH and General Manager of the Munich Bank. From 2003 to 2015, Althaus was a member of the management of DZB BANK and has been Chairman of the Bank's Supervisory Board since 2015. He has also been a member of the ACTIVEBANK Supervisory Board since 2006 and its chairman since 2010. He also held supervisory board mandates at BICO Zweirad Marketing GmbH, Quick Schuh Handelsgesellschaft mbH + Co. KG and Garant-Möbel Service GmbH & Co. KG.

In 2009 he took over the chairmanship of the ANWR GROUP and in May 2016 took over the presidency of the Mittelstandsverbund - Zentralverband Gewerblicher Verbundgruppen (ZGV) as successor to Wilfried Hollmann . On November 7, 2017, Günter Althaus became the new President of the DGRV - Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband e. V. elected.

Offices

In 1989 he worked for the Waldecker Bank lending business in Korbach. He was a lecturer at the cooperative educational institute in Kassel in 1991. He was with the cooperative association in Frankfurt in 1994. In Frankfurt he was department head at the marketing and sales cooperative association. He became managing director of GenoConsult GmbH in 1998. Two years later he became a general agent of the Munich bank. Althaus was a member of the DZB BANK management team from 2003, and in 2015 he moved to the Supervisory Board as its chairman.

Althaus has been chairman of the board of the ANWR GROUP since 2009. He was on the supervisory board of BICO Zweirad Marketing GmbH from 2008 to 2017. He was on the supervisory board of Quick Schuh mbH + Co KG from 2010 to 2016. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Association Council Genossenschaftsverband eV Frankfurt. He was a member of the supervisory board of Garant Möbel GmbH from 2013 to 2016. After that, for two years, from 2014 to 2016, he was a member of the association council of the DGRV, since 2016 deputy chairman of the administrative board. Since 2016 he has been President of the Mittelstandsverbund - ZGV, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ServiCon eG and member of the Presidium of the German Trade Association - HDE eV A year later he became President of the DGRV - Deutscher Genossenschafts- und Raiffeisenverband e. V.

Since 2018 he has been deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the ADG, Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften eV
