Günter Baltrusch

Günter Baltrusch (born January 24, 1942 in Ilmenhagen , East Prussia ) is a former German soccer player who was active in the GDR Oberliga , the highest East German soccer class, for SC Aufbau Magdeburg and ASG Vorwärts Stralsund .

Soccer career

Baltrusch began his football career at the agricultural company sports club in Nedlitz . After completing his apprenticeship as a lathe operator, he played football in the fourth-class district league of Magdeburg from 1960 to 1962 in the company sports association Einheit in the district town of Zerbst . The assessed midfielder was delegated by the BSG unit in 1962 to the football performance center of the GDR district of Magdeburg , the SC Aufbau Magdeburg. However, it was not until the 20th match day of the 1962/63 season before Baltrusch came to his first appearance in the league in the encounter assembly Magdeburg - Motor Jena (2-1). He played instead of the non-operationalHermann Stöcker as a left winger. It was his only league use that season, and in 1963/64 he was only used once in a first division game.

After this failure, Baltrusch left SC Aufbau Magdeburg after two years and joined BSG Motor Dessau in the summer of 1964 , which played in the second-rate GDR league . When Dessau had to relegate to the third division after the 1966/67 season, Baltrusch made another change and played from the 1967/68 season on with the GDR league club Vorwärts Stralsund. With the Stralsundern he rose in 1971 to the league. In this success he was involved with 19 point game inserts and one goal. In his third league season Baltrusch initially had a difficult start. It was only on the 5th match day that he was used for 21 minutes, in the first half of the season he only played three times. In the second half of the season he made the breakthrough to become a regular player, playing all 13 point games, usually as a left midfielder. Stralsund could initially only hold in the league for one year. After two years they were promoted again, and Baltrusch was instrumental in this with 26 games and eight goals. Also in the new league season 1974/75 he was part of the Stralsund team and was used in 23 point games. The forward team could not secure relegation in the second league year. After relegation, Baltrusch ended his active career in the summer of 1975.

Günter Baltrusch, trained as a certified sports teacher, then became an assistant trainer at Vorwärts Stralsund. From 1983 to 1988 he was the responsible trainer at Stralsund.
