Hermann Stöcker (born January 6, 1938 in Borne ) is a former German football player (GDR).

Life

Stöcker grew up in the village of Borne, 17 kilometers south of Magdeburg . He started playing football at the local company sports association (BSG) Traktor, moved to BSG Traktor Heyrothsberge in 1953 and joined BSG Motor Mitte Magdeburg in 1956 at the age of 18, a forerunner of 1. FC Magdeburg . Stöcker played his first competitive game for Magdeburg on January 8, 1956 in the 1956 Totorunde at Motor Nordhausen West and won with his team 2-1. From 1960 he played in the highest GDR soccer class, the Oberliga , meanwhile his team called itself SC Aufbau Magdeburg, from 1966 1. FC Magdeburg. With her, Stöcker won the GDR Cup ( FDGB Cup ) in 1964, 1965 and 1969 . On September 4, 1963, Stöcker played his first international A match as a left winger in Magdeburg in a 1-1 draw against Bulgaria . In the World Cup qualifier against Austria on April 25, 1965 (1: 1), Stöcker was used for the sixth and last time in the national team. In the 13 games of the GDR Olympic selection for Tokyo in 1964, he was used eleven times during qualification and in the Olympic tournament. From the finals in Tokyo, he played three games and was in the team that won the bronze medal. With the 4-0 victory against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt in the cup final on May 31, 1969, Stöcker ended his active career in the league team, as an injury no longer allowed high-performance sport.
