Life

As a businessman, Günter D. Roth managed a chemical-technical company in Munich. He devoted himself in particular to the observation of planets . In the early 1950s he took part in the founding of the Vereinigung der Sternfreunde eV (VdS), whose management he took over in 1957. Since the founding of the magazine Sterne und Weltraum in 1962, he has worked there in various functions, initially as editor and representative of amateur astronomers, later as co-editor and from 1982 to 1999 also as publisher. With his numerous books and magazine articles, he brought many star friends closer to the enthusiasm for this hobby.
