After attending primary school from 1934 to 1942, he completed an apprenticeship as a painter from 1943 to 1946 with the Wanne-Eickel master painter Karl Schmitz. From 1948 Dworak was taught by Edmund Schuitz in free painting and worked for him as a decorative draftsman, advertising draftsman and graphic artist until 1950. From 1952 to 1956 he studied applied and free graphics at the Folkwang School in Essen, went on study trips to France, Portugal and Spain, and was an assistant atMax Burchartz , Arnold Bode and Werner Graeff .

The marriage in 1956 followed the birth of daughters Marianne in 1958 and Martina in 1964. After working in the gardening and planning office of the city of Neuss (1956–1957), at the city of Gelsenkirchen (1957–1960) and in the city planning office of the city of Wanne-Eickel ( 1961–1963) he worked as a graphic designer and in the field of public relations and exhibition organization at the municipal association Ruhrgebiet in Essen from 1963 until his professional retirement in 1991 . Artistic work

Dworak won his first awards early on, such as the first prize in 1947 at the Herne youth art competition for drawing shoes , in 1948 the first prize for drawing and painting from the cities of Dortmund, Herne and Wanne-Eickel, and in 1949 the art prize from the Ministry of Culture (Arnsberg). In 1955 his poster design for the airline Panair do Brasil was awarded the 1st prize and exhibited in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Rio de Janeiro.

His main focus was on commercial graphics , painting and sculpture. For his sculptures he often used materials that were already in use in mining or metal processing. After abstract works in the 60s and 70s, from the beginning of the 80s he increasingly devoted himself to mining and the people who work in mining, in the 90s he turned to Christian and social issues.
