Günter Jaschke

Günter Jaschke (born March 21, 1921 in Breslau ; † August 23, 1985 in Soest ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary and evening school, Jaschke completed an administrative apprenticeship with the city administration of Wünschelburg from 1935 to 1938 and worked as an administrative employee at the Glatz employment office from 1939 . He did Reich labor service in 1940/41, took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1941 to 1945 and was seriously injured during the war.

Jaschke moved to the end of the war as a refugee to West Germany over and settled in Soest down. There he resumed work as an administrative clerk in 1946, passed the second administrative examination in 1950 and became administrative inspector at the Soest employment office in 1964. In addition, he completed a scholarship at the Academy of Labor at the University of Frankfurt am Main in 1957/58 . In addition, he had been a member of the Association of War Disabled, War Relatives and Social Pensioners since 1947 .

Jaschke had been unionized since 1946 and joined the DAG and ÖTV in 1949 . From 1952 to 1960 he was a district board member of the ÖTV and from 1958 to 1960 local chairman of the union in Soest. In 1955 he became chairman of the staff council of the Soest labor office and a member of the district staff council of the state labor office of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Political party

Jaschke joined the SPD in 1947 and was SPD local chairman in Soest from 1957.

MP

Jaschke had been a councilor for the city of Soest since 1956 and was temporarily chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. In 1961 he was elected to the district council of the Soest district. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1976. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the SPD North Rhine-Westphalia .

Public offices

Jaschke served as mayor of Soest in 1960/61 and then as deputy mayor until 1964.
