Günter Kirtschig (born November 30, 1942 ) was a soccer goalkeeper in Zwickau . For the company sports community (BSG) Sachsenring Zwickau he played in the Oberliga , the top division of the GDR football association .

Kirtschig was in the gate of the BSG activist Karl Marx Zwickau until he was 26 , with whom he played in the second-rate GDR league until 1968 . In the summer of 1968 the BSG activist was dissolved, and most of the football players were taken over into the 2nd team of the BSG Sachsenring Zwickau. Günter Kirtschig was among them. After he was first used in the 2nd team, which had taken the place of activist in the GDR league, he played his first two league games at the end of the 1969/70 season. On May 23, 1970, he was 27 years old for the first time in the league game 1. FC Magdeburg - Sachsenring (2-0) in the goal of the league team. For the following season 1970/71 he was officially nominated as the second goalkeeper behind Jürgen Croy for the league. Since Croy rarely failed and was consistently in excellent shape, there was hardly any opportunity for Kirtschig to gain a foothold in the first team. In the 1970/71 and 1971/72 seasons he jumped in only one league game for Croy and was otherwise used in the 2nd team. It was only when Croy was injured in the fall of 1972 that Kirtschig was subsequently used in 17 league games. After Croy recovered, Kirtschig played in the first half of the 1973/74 season twice in the major league, after which he no longer appeared in the top division. After further assignments in the second team, Kirtschig ended his career as a football player in 1975 at the age of 33. For the Sachsenring Zwickau league team, he played 23 games within three years.
