Günter Kuba (born May 31, 1979 in Vienna ) is an Austrian chess master .

Chess career

Günter Kuba began to play chess very early, he was twice Austrian youth state champion. Furthermore, he was able to achieve fifth place at the European Championship under 16. After graduating from high school, she studied pedagogy. He was part of the Austrian team at the Mitropa Cup in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 . In 2006 he was Vice State Champion behind Eva Moser , who was the first woman to win the general class.

Günter Kuba plays for SK Fürstenfeld , with whom he was a member of the Austrian 1st Bundesliga from 1999 to 2006 and from 2009 to 2013 and took part in the European Club Cup in 2004 . Günter Kuba has held the title of International Champion awarded by FIDE since 2006 , and he fulfilled the required standards in the 2001/02 season of the A-class of the Vienna company team championships, at the 2004 Mitropa Cup in Zemplínska šírava , at the 2004 European Club Cup in Çeşme and in the 2004/05 season of the Austrian Bundesliga. His Elo number is 2328 (as of August 2018), in July 2007 he reached his highest Elo number of 2413.
