Günter Lehmann (food technologist)

Günter Lehmann (born October 28, 1920 in Brandenburg (Havel) ; † February 16, 2015 ) was a German nutritionist and food technologist .

Life

Günter Lehmann studied chemistry in Halle and Berlin and food chemistry in Saarbrücken. In 1969 he completed his habilitation at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . He taught as a professor at Saarland University in the field of nutrition and household science.

The sworn expert for food chemistry was also active as a visiting professor at universities in Costa Rica, Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay and Bulgaria and worked as a lecturer for a long time in the field of biogeography at the University of Saarland and at the University of Kaiserslautern .

He was a member of various commissions of the German Research Foundation .

Awards

Lehmann was an honorary professor at the Central University of Quito (Ecuador) and an honorary professor at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. In 1991 he was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany for his services to food technology in Saarland . Since 2009 he has been an honorary member of NanoBioNet eV
