Günter Sonneborn

Günter Sonneborn (born January 16, 1921 ; † 2001 in Baden-Baden ) was a German composer , music producer and music editor.

He published his works under his name as well as under the artist names Thomas Gronau and Peter Krassin .

Career

Günter Sonneborn received music lessons at the age of 8. At the age of 16 he was already the 2nd concertmaster of a youth symphony orchestra in Essen . In 1940 he graduated from school with a high school diploma.

After a short study period, he was employed by the Wehrmacht in Berlin during the Second World War and was taken prisoner by the Soviets, which lasted until 1949. In captivity he was able to work musically and was most recently director of the camp orchestra.

From 1950–1959, Sonneborn was employed at the Apollo Theater in Düsseldorf, and from 1960 he worked as a freelancer. As a busy producer and music editor, he created numerous print edits for publishers.
