Günter Thiele (administrative lawyer)

Günter Thiele (born November 9, 1927 in Schwerte ; † May 13, 2010 in Cologne ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Career

Thiele was drafted into military service as a boy in 1944 and was taken prisoner. From 1949 to 1953 he studied law and passed the first state examination in 1952 and the 1957 state examination. During his studies in 1951 he became a member of the Salingia Halle fraternity . In 1957 he joined the administrative service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as an assessor for the Arnsberg district government. He was appointed government councilor in 1960, senior government councilor in 1963, government director in 1965 and senior government director in 1966.

In 1970 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia as a senior ministerial advisor . From 1971 he was government vice-president of the Düsseldorf district government behind Hans Otto Bäumer . From 1973 until his retirement in 1982 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.
