Günter Wollstein

Günter Wollstein (born October 28, 1939 in Landsberg / Warthe ) is a German historian .

Günter Wollstein studied history, politics and Latin at the Universities of Marburg and Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1972 on From Weimar Revisionism to Hitler. The German Reich and the great powers in the initial phase of National Socialist rule in Germany and in 1976 put his habilitation thesis (accompanied by Andreas Hillgruber ) on the subject of "Greater Germany" at Paulskirche. National goals of the bourgeois revolution of 1848/49 . Wollstein taught from 1972 until his retirement in 2004 as a professor at the University of Cologne . In recent years he has taught as a visiting professor at Charles University in Prague . His research focus is the German Revolution of 1848/1849 and foreign policy in the transition from the Weimar Republic to the Third Reich .
