Günther Dengg (born July 4, 1973 in Schwaz ) is a former Austrian biathlete and cross-country skier .

Life

Günther Dengg lives in Schlitters and started for WSV Fügen . The sports soldier has been practicing biathlon since 1993. In 1986 Dengg made his debut in the biathlon World Cup with 88th place in an individual in Pokljuka . At the beginning of the following season he was used in Östersund for the first time in the Austrian relay (rank eleven). A year later he won his first and only World Cup points by finishing tenth in the Östersund singles. With the result, the Austrian also qualified for the Olympic Winter Games in Nagano . There he was used in a race at Nozawa Onsen ; in the individual he finished 62nd. It was also Dengg's last international biathlon race.

Then Dengg switched to cross-country skiing. In 2000 he made his debut in the Continental Cup in Campra as 120th over 10 kilometers. The best result was second place in the Galtür sprint race in 2002 . In 2004 he also ended his cross-country skiing career without having achieved any particular results.
