Günther Grün

Günther Grün (* 1965 in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler ) is a German mathematician and university professor at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg . His research focus is applied mathematics . He is the author of numerous, mainly English-language specialist publications in this field.

Life

Günther Grün grew up in the Rhineland . In 1984 he passed the Abitur at Are Gymnasium Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler , completed his basic military service in Koblenz and then studied mathematics. During his school days he had successfully participated in the national mathematics competition. Grün completed his studies in 1991 at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn with a diploma , which was followed by his dissertation in 1994 and his habilitation in 2001 .
