Günther Höller

Günther Höller (born April 30, 1937 - † December 26, 2016 ) was a German recorder player and university professor.

Höller studied with Gustav Scheck at the Freiburg University of Music . From 1964 to 1972 he was a teacher at the Rheinische Musikschule in Cologne . In 1972 he was appointed professor at the Cologne University of Music . He played with the German Baroque Soloists , the Cappella Coloniensis and the Collegium Aureum . Günther Höller taught how to play the recorder, how to play the transverse flute and how to interpret so-called "early music". The contemporary "modern" music for recorder was by no means sidelined. Numerous concerts have fascinated and inspired music lovers. His master classes were legendary and have inspired generations of recorder players and gained international recognition.
