Günther Jonitz

Günther Jonitz (born June 19, 1958 in Munich ) is a German surgeon and medical professional .

Günther Jonitz studied medicine in Bochum and Berlin from 1977 to 1984, where he passed the state examination in 1984 and obtained his license to practice medicine . After further training in general surgery with a focus on minimally invasive surgery and surgical endoscopy in the 1st surgical department in the Berlin-Moabit hospital, he was recognized as a specialist in surgery in 1994. 1996 Jonitz was at the Free University of Berlin Dr. med. PhD.

Günther Jonitz has been a member of the board of the Marburger Bund , Berlin / Brandenburg regional association , since 1990 . From 1995 to 1999 he was vice-president, since then he has been president of the Berlin Medical Association and member of the board of the German Medical Association , responsible for quality assurance in medicine .

Jonitz was one of the founders of the German Evidence-Based Medicine Network , the BQS Institute for Quality & Patient Safety , the Cooperation for Transparency and Quality in Health Care , the Quality Medicine Initiative (IQM), the Berlin Heart Attack Register and the Patient Safety Action Alliance . He was the initiator of the Medical Management curriculum of the German Medical Association.
