Günther Lanzinger (born January 4, 1972 in Villach ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player and current coach , who played a large part of his career for the EC VSV in the Austrian ice hockey league .

Career

Günther Lanzinger comes from the offspring of the EC VSV and has been playing in Villach for 20 years. He made his Bundesliga debut in 1989 as a 17-year-old and already scored 20 points in 39 games in his first season. Since then, Lanzinger has been an important part of the VSV team every season, in his 20 seasons he scored over 600 points in almost 1000 Bundesliga games. Lanzinger won five championship titles with the VSV. After the 2009/10 season, Lanzinger ended his professional career. He then completed another season at EC SV Spittal in the fourth Austrian level.

Lanzinger has been an assistant trainer at EC VSV since February 2011.

International

Lanzinger also played for the Austrian national team for a long time . He competed in four A world championships for Austria and took part in the Winter Olympics twice. He came to 30 world championship and eleven Olympic games.
