Günther Schumann (born August 6, 1930 in Niederelsungen ; † December 17, 2014 ) was a German nature photographer.

Life

Schumann completed an apprenticeship as a technical draftsman and model maker, later he became a master model maker in the design department of a large-scale industrial company. He later moved to the Hessian Forest Research Institute, where he worked as a technical employee and project manager in the forest protection department until the end of 1993.

He became known through the portrait of the life of a vixen (called Feline by Schumann, born in March 1990, probably died in late spring 2001) in Reinhardswald in Hesse. He accompanied them with a camera and film camera over a period of eleven years.
