The G2 Kunsthalle is a private museum for contemporary art in Leipzig .

The G2 Kunsthalle has been exhibiting the Hildebrand Collection on a permanent basis since March 2015 and contains works by important Leipzig artists and others. a. Hans Aichinger , Henriette Grahnert , Paule Hammer , Katrin Heichel , Uwe Kowski , Peter Krauskopf , Rosa Loy , Christoph Ruckhäberle , Julia Schmidt , David Schnell and Matthias Weischer . The collection is supplemented by national and international positions such as Daniel Richter , Terry Haggerty and Tomás Saraceno .

History of the building

The Dittrichring 13 building was built in 1986 for the VEB data processing center of the city of Leipzig. Since the fall of the Wall, the building was temporarily empty and was later acquired by Leipzig real estate agent Steffen Hildebrand, renovated and partly converted into an art gallery on an area of ​​1100 m².

After a long stay in Italy, the art historian Anka Ziefer has curated the exhibitions at the G2 Kunsthalle since 2015.
