The Getec heat & power GmbH is a German energy service provider , which specializes in energy supply. The company is active across Europe and has subsidiaries in Austria , Switzerland , the Benelux countries , Poland , the Czech Republic and Hungary .
history
In May 1993 the Getec Society for Energy Technology and Management was founded in Magdeburg by the shareholder of today's parent company , Karl Gerhold . First, the company developed heating concepts for the housing industry .
In 1997 Getec AG, the predecessor company of today's Getec heat & power AG, emerged from Getec Gesellschaft für Energietechnik und -management. The provision of energy services for industry and housing was the core business of the AG.
At the beginning of 2014 Getec AG changed its name to Getec heat & power AG and has since concentrated on today's business area.
At the beginning of 2017, the Swedish investor EQT Infrastructure acquired the majority stake (60%) in Getec heat & power AG, Getec Wärme und efficiency AG and Getec media AG as part of a strategic partnership. The newly established holding company is intended to drive the further development of the companies.
Getec heat & power AG is the market leader in the German contracting market today .

Getec heat & power belongs to the Getec group and is one of three subsidiaries of G + E Getec Holding GmbH. The headquarters are in Magdeburg.

The core business of Getec heat & power is contracting , the assumption of energy service and supply services. Getec has focused on customers of energy-intensive industries such as B. the paper industry , the chemical industry , the food industry , the mechanical engineering industry and the automotive industry. Getec develops innovative technologies for energy efficiency and environmental protection in cooperation with partner companies, research institutions and universities .
Lignite dust (BKS) / solid fuels
In cooperation with the subsidiary Carbotechnik Energiesysteme, Getec heat & power brought the technology of pulverized lignite firing to market maturity. With the help of this technology, low-calorific lean gases occurring in the chemical industry can be used thermally in combination with lignite dust in the muffle pulse burner or climate-damaging process gases can be destroyed through co-incineration.
Heat transformation
Getec heat & power GmbH conducts research together with Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg on the subject of heat transfer and heat transformation.
