The BDe 4/4 numbers 141 and 142 are electric meter-gauge railcars . They were procured in 1972 by the Chemins de fer fribourgeois Gruyère-Friborg-Morat (GFM). They were manufactured by the companies Schindler Waggon and Société Anonyme des Ateliers de Sécheron .
history
For the construction of the N 12 motorway , GFM carried out gravel transports. For this purpose, GFM procures the two railcars and ten self-unloading cars . These were used as shuttle trains , each consisting of a railcar and four self-unloading cars, with one car being equipped as a control car . This saved time-consuming shunting trips.
For these transports, the railcars were initially delivered without interior fittings, without lowering windows and painted green. Instead, 11 tons of ballast in the form of sandbags were loaded, increasing the service weight to 46 tons.
With the completion of the gravel transport in 1980, the railcars were repainted in silver / orange and received their interior fittings. They were then used in normal passenger and freight traffic. When the GFM switched from roller stool to roller block traffic in 1985 , the freight wagons could only be transported with an additional compressor wagon for the air brake, since the railcars only have a vacuum brake.
Through the merger of GFM with Transport en commun de Friborg (TF) in 2000, the railcars came to Freiburgische Verkehrsbetriebe (TPF).
With the delivery of the new ABe 2/4 and Be 2/4 railcars, the two railcars were shut down in 2017. The railcar 141 then came to the GFM Historique and the railcar 142 was canceled.
technology
The car body is a welded, self-supporting lightweight steel construction. The interior is divided by transverse walls so that a smoking compartment with 24 seats, a non-smoking compartment with 16 seats and a luggage compartment are created. The luggage compartment is equipped with sliding gates. The entrance doors are pneumatically operated folding doors with folding steps.
The bogie frame consists of a welded steel hollow beam with longitudinal, transverse and end supports. The traction motors are arranged lengthways and drive the axles via a cardan shaft and hypoid gear . The primary and secondary suspension consists of coil springs, the secondary suspension being equipped with additional rubber springs. Power is transmitted between the bogie and the box by means of a steering system.
Due to the size of the vacuum braking system, it is not arranged in the bogie, but between the bogies below the car floor. Part of the electrical equipment is also housed there.
The two half-scissor pantographs , the travel and braking resistors and fans for cooling the travel motors are arranged on the roof .
Names
The number 141 bears the name and coat of arms of Gruyères and the number 142 of Semsales .
