GM-J platform
The automobile platform, known internally at General Motors as J-Car or J-Body , was designed for vehicles with a self-supporting body , transversely installed front engine and front-wheel drive . This platform was developed from 1977 and replaced the GM H platform. The best-known vehicle built on it in Europe is the Opel Ascona C / Vauxhall Cavalier Mk. II. The four-door J-Cars were mostly characterized by the curvature of the rear side windows.
