GM Recordings
GM Recordings is an independent record label founded by Gunther Schuller in 1980 , which specializes in classical music and jazz , "in order to bring music to the audience that would otherwise go unheard." On the label, albums by, among others, Eric Dolphy , Ran Blake , Bill Russo , Ed Schuller , George Schuller , Bob Nieske, John LaPorta , Ivo Perelman , Mark Helias , Nicolas Simion , Mark Whitecage and Barney McAll.
The legendary recordings of the New England Ragtime Ensemble have also been made accessible again. In the field of classical music, contemporary American composers such as Milton Babbitt , Elliott Carter , George Crumb , Andrew Imbrie , Thomas Oboe Lee , John Stewart McLennan , George Schuller and Alec Wilder are particularly encouraged.
