The KK GS Yuasa Corporation ( Japanese 株式会社 ジ ー エ ス ユ ア サ コ ー ポ レ ー シ ョ ン , kabushiki kaisha jīesu yuasa kōporēshon ), a Japanese manufacturer of accumulators , is the largest Asian manufacturer of car batteries . The annual turnover is approximately 2.4 billion euros (300 billion yen). The president of the company is Makoto Yoda. The company is also the largest manufacturer of car batteries in the United States.

Lithium-ion accumulator

GS Yuasa relies on lithium-ion batteries for future hybrid and electric cars .

The company has set up a joint venture with the car manufacturer Mitsubishi to develop and produce this technology and is building a factory.

GS Yuasa also founded a company for the production of traction batteries with Honda .

In January 2013, all Boeing 787 aircraft were temporarily withdrawn from service. The background was, among other things, fire problems with the Li-ion batteries supplied by GS Yuasa.
