Gaétan Pasotti

Gaétan Pasotti SDB (born February 5, 1890 in Pinerolo ; † September 3, 1950 ) was an Italian religious priest , missionary and Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicar .

Life

After entering the order and studying philosophy and theology, Gaétan Pasotti was ordained a priest on March 18, 1916 . He went on a mission, initially to China. When the Salesian School in Shanghai was occupied by Chinese troops, the institute there was evacuated and a new work began in Thailand with some of the Salesians there , including Pasotti, who became the novice master in the novitiate moved there by the extraordinary visitor Peter Ricaldone . He became superior in 1931, and on May 28, 1934, he was finally made prefect of Rajaburi . From 1937 on he was also Provincial of the Salesian Province of Siam . On April 3, 1941, he was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Rajaburi, associated with the titular diocese of Barata . The episcopal ordination was donated to him on June 24, 1941 by Bishop René-Marie-Joseph Perros MEP.
