Gabie Loh , actually Gabriele Anna Loh (* May 30, 1964 - June 11, 2019 ) was a German singer , sound engineer and pianist . In the early 1990s, she was the singer in the German version of the French cartoon series Once Upon a Time ...

Life

Gabriele Loh learned the instruments piano , violin , saxophone and shakuhachi at an early age . During her school days at the Musisches Gymnasium Erlangen she played in the school orchestra and in the school big band. After graduating from high school, she went to Berlin to the University of the Arts (today Berlin University of the Arts ) to study sound engineering. During this time she performed with various bands as a singer in Berlin and the surrounding area.

After graduating from college, she worked for several years as a freelance sound engineer for various dubbing companies and in the winter garden for André Heller and Bernhard Paul . After these activities she shifted her work focus to writing synchronous dialogue books.

Loh moved back to Erlangen in 2003 and has been running a private piano school there since 2005. She also worked as a répétiteur for various singers.

In the early 1990s she sang for the offshoots of the French cartoon series Once Upon a Time ... by Albert Barillé . So she sang the German theme song It is beautiful life to Once upon a time ... life . She also sang the German theme song Wunderbar to Es war once ... Amerika and was also responsible for the singing of Es war once ... the discovery of our world .

Loh died on June 11, 2019.

Trivia

The song It's beautiful life was adapted and covered in 1998 by the German punk rock band The Wohlstandskinder in their album The 90s were there for recycling .
