Gabriel Hässi (Lieutenant General)

Gabriel Hässi (* around 1648 in Glarus ; † November 21, 1729 ) was a Swiss officer. He was the son of the Catholic officer Walter Hässi.

From 1665 Hässi served in the French army, initially in the Stuppa regiment. He took part in the Dutch War from 1672 to 1678 and commanded the Pfyffer Regiment from 1689 to 1729, among other things in the Palatinate War of Succession .

From 1693 he was in the Maréchal de camp , from 1704 Lieutenant-général . He took part in the War of the Spanish Succession . From 1694 he was knight of the Ordre royal et militaire de Saint-Louis .
