Gabriel van Dievoet (born April 12, 1875 in Brussels , † November 17, 1934 in Saint-Gilles ) was a Belgian painter and Art Nouveau decorator. In Brussels he decorated houses with sgraffito .

He is the brother of the architect Henri van Dievoet .

Works

He is the author of many decorations in sgraffito in Brussels and its surroundings and in Wallonia, for example those of the Golden House in the city of Charleroi .

He is also the author of these sgraffiti:

  • The drug bos primary school (1902)
  • Dilbeek town house (1903)
  • Collège Saint-Alexis Geel (1900)
  • The Church of Erps-Kwerps (1898)
  • Machelen Church (1908)
  • Villa "Les Sorbiers" in the park of Genval (1904)
  • The Escoyez Castle by the architect Sonneville Architect from Tournai, 1904.

He is also the author of paintings and watercolors.

The Royal Library of Belgium , Albertine, Prints Cabinet, keeps an etching by him entitled Lion's Head (reference: F 41265).
