Henri van Dievoet (born January 19, 1869 in Brussels ; † April 24, 1931 there ) was a Belgian architect .

Life

Van Dievoet comes from an old patrician family in Brussels. One of his ancestors was the sculptor Peter van Dievoet . He is the brother of the Art Nouveau painter and decorator Gabriel van Dievoet . The architect Joseph Poelaert was his great-uncle. He was married to Ernestine Eugenie Hortense Clémence Masson.

His first work was in 1889 in a house and studio of the artist Felix Rodberg (today Washington Straat 30 in Ixelles / Elsene ). In 1890 he participated in the Salon d'Architecture de l'Exposition des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, as did Victor Horta and Maurice Van Ysendijck . In 1894 he won the Grand Prize for Architecture of the City of Brussels with his plan for parliament buildings in the constitutional state . From 1910 he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. From 1924 to 1931 he taught architectural drawing and perspective at the Academy of Fine Arts in Saint-Gilles / Sint-Gillis .

  • Haine-Saint-Paul-Jolimont Evangelical Church, 1890, demolished in 1913 in connection with damage discovered shortly after commissioning
