Gabriel Vetter (* 1983 in Schaffhausen ) is a Swiss writer and cabaret artist .

Life

Gabriel Vetter grew up in Beggingen in the canton of Schaffhausen , his mother Elisabeth Vetter (1945–2015) was a journalist. In 2003 he had his first appearance at a poetry slam in Schaffhausen, which he won straight away. In autumn 2004 he prevailed against 100 other authors in the largest poetry slam in Europe, the German International Poetry Slam in Stuttgart, and was named “Slammer of the Year” in 2004 in the German-speaking region. In 2006 he won the “ Salzburger Stier ” and was the youngest recipient of this renowned cabaret award until the 2017 award ceremony for Hazel Brugger .

At the end of 2005 Vetter's debut CDTourette de Suisse ” was released, and in 2009 the solo CD “Being human is curable” . In 2013 the new solo CD "Vive la Résidence!" at the publisher «Der Gesunde Menschenversand». He is also a member of the slampoetry formation “SMAAT”.

Vetter lived as an author in Winterthur and Basel . In the 2012/2013 season he was a resident author at Theater Basel. In 2014 Vetter produced and wrote the web series “Güsel” for Swiss television SRF, in which, alongside Olifr M. Guz , he himself also played a leading role as a “ rubbish detective ”. Since 2012 Gabriel Vetter can be heard regularly as a satirist with "Vetter Töne" on Swiss radio SRF 1.

From 2015 to 2017 he lived with his family in Norway , then back in Switzerland.
