Gabriela Mendling
Gabriela Mendling (* 1959 ; † March 7, 2007 in Berlin ) was a German writer .
Live and act
Together with her husband, the gynecologist Werner Mendling , she moved from Wuppertal to Frankfurt (Oder) in 1995 . She described her experiences as a West German in East Germany in 1998 in her book NeuLand , published under the pseudonym Luise Endlich . Because of the hostility that began after the pseudonym was released, her husband gave up his position as chief physician at the Frankfurt Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics in May 2000; the family moved to Berlin. In the same year Gabriela Mendling published her second book OstWind , in which she describes the negative reactions to her debut.
Mendling died of a serious illness at the age of 47.
