Gabriele Franziska Götz

Gabriele Franziska Götz (* 1954 in Berlin ) is a German designer and has been professor for visual communication at the Kassel Art College since 2008 .

Life

She lives in Amsterdam . Götz studied visual communication at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles . In 1987 she became a qualified designer and in 1988 a master class student at the UdK. 1988–1990 she was a freelance designer in Amsterdam, where she worked a. a. with Studio Anthon Beeke, UNA and Total Design. In 1991 she founded “ambulant design” one-woman studio. She developed various projects in collaboration with publishers, institutes, galleries (including Galerie Paul Andriesse), authors, art historians and artists: Marlene Dumas , Lidwien van de Veen, John Gossage, Holger Bunk and the Dutch contribution to the 2009 Venice Biennale for Fiona Tan .

She is internationally active in various projects and is responsible for concept development, picture editing, typography, design and production with different media. She travels and works between Berlin, Stuttgart, Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, Kassel. She has won international awards for her work. Her work has been published in publications at home and abroad.

1991–2001 she was professor for visual communication at the Merz Akademie , Hochschule für Gestaltung Stuttgart, 2001–2007 core docent for visual communication at Avans Hogeschool, Akademie voor Kunst en Vormgeving St. Joost in Breda / 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands . Since 2008 she has been Professor of Visual Communication at the Kassel University of Kassel .
