Gabriele Lackner-Strauss

Gabriele Lackner-Strauss (born February 12, 1953 in Freistadt ) is a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament ( ÖVP ).

Life

After elementary and secondary school, she completed the one-year women's technical school and then did an apprenticeship as a photographer with a journeyman's and master's examination. The photographer is on the guild committee of photographers of Upper Austria and district chairwoman of the Chamber of Commerce and the Free City Economic Association. If she hadn't taken over the photo business from her mother, she would have become a veterinarian. Furthermore, she is the chairwoman of the EUREGIO regional management in Mühlviertel and vice-president of the Working Group on European Border Regions - AEBR.

The commercial councilor was elected to the Upper Austrian state parliament on October 23, 2003. There she is a member of the following committees: for economic affairs; for traffic matters; for women's affairs and for EU affairs.

In her private life she is interested in art history and archeology. Lackner-Strauss loves to travel, reads and plays the piano. She was an active military rider for a long time and now devotes a lot of time to her Arabian horses in the paddock.

The mother of one son is a master photographer and lives in Freistadt.

On September 18, 2019, she resigned her mandate, and Anton Froschauer succeeded her as a member of the state parliament . At the beginning of December 2019, Christian Naderer succeeded her as district chairman of the Freistadt Chamber of Commerce. The mayor of Tragwein , Josef Naderer, is to succeed her as ÖVP district party leader in the Freistadt district .
